After years of creating custom pieces behind the scenes, I realised how much I missed the human connection that art can bring. During my time as an artist in residence on Oxford Street, I saw how creativity could spark conversations and smiles, but I wanted something more personal. I wanted to create an experience where people could express themselves through art and rediscover the joy of making something with their own hands.
That is what inspired me to start hosting workshops. They are a way for me to connect with my community and share the love I have for customising, while giving others the chance to put their own personality into what they wear.
My first workshop, Custom Your Kicks, is all about creativity and self-expression. In this three hour session, you will design and paint your own trainers using professional leather paints, premium laces and a wide range of lace charms. I will guide you through the full process, from prepping your shoes and transferring your design to painting, sealing and adding your finishing touches.
The goal is to help you create something that feels completely yours. Whether you prefer bold colours, playful details or subtle designs, this is your chance to bring character back into your shoes and show off your style in a way that is truly unique.
The workshop is beginner friendly, relaxed and designed to make you feel comfortable exploring your creativity. It takes place in a cosy venue just an eight minute walk from Tooting Broadway Station. Snacks, tea and coffee will be provided, and there will be plenty of time to chat, connect and see how everyone brings their ideas to life.
It is a bring your own shoes event, but you can choose to add on a new pair for £50 when booking. All other materials including paints, brushes, sealants, laces and charms are provided.
Each class is limited to 14 people to ensure everyone gets one to one guidance and space to create at their own pace.
Whether you come alone, with friends or as part of a group, you will leave with a pair of custom trainers that tell your story and reflect your personality.
For me, these workshops are about more than painting shoes. They are about creativity, confidence and community, and celebrating the individuality that makes each piece special.
